MARTIN’S WELLSPRING OF HOPE
Hi, my name is Martin, and I live in Sheffield, England, and I am starting a fundraising campaign here in the UK for a project to help the elderly in India.
My goal is to fundraise $3,000 for this worthwhile project which has touched my heart.
The mission is to provide care for the neglected and destitute elderly, and to protect widows and abandoned elderly women. Through permanent housing, nutritious meal provision, and onsite clinic and medical treatment, they offer safety and security, as well as initiatives such as gardening to engage the residents and provide a natural therapy.
In addition, the project manages a school for local village children. The children and the elderly have served to enrich and enliven each other’s lives, providing a beautiful life and energy on the campus for the elderly
My personal connection to Wellspring International came about through purchasing and reading many of the books and articles of renowned Christian author and speaker Ravi Zacharias, founder of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) org (my personal favourite and a must read book is ‘The Grand Weaver’)! These books and the abundance of other freely available resources on their website, gently helped me face life again and continue on my journey without my wife who sadly died of breast cancer in December 2006.
Sometime last year I was directed, I believe, by ‘The Grand Weaver’ (if you’ve ever read the book you’ll know what I mean) to a YouTube clip uploaded in March 2011, in which a lady named Naomi, was being interviewed by Bob Ditmer about her book, entitled ‘The Scent of Water’.
Naomi humbly talked about her book and also about some of the heartbreaking stories of the women in her book. I was overjoyed to realise that she is not only a daughter of Ravi Zacharias, but also part of the Wellspring International charity which is the humanitarian arm of RZIM ministries! I just felt in my heart that I needed to help in some small way.
I decided to purchase and read Naomi’s book which, alongside the Wellspring website, gives a much broader sense of the charity and the projects she and her team are involved with. I think it’s a fabulous Christian organisation that touches hearts and souls as well as reaches out in a very practical way to help many vulnerable women and children around the world!
If you also are touched by this wonderful ongoing project and would like to help by making a donation please Donate Here.
Remember; 100% of each dollar directly supports women and children at risk.
Thank you for your support and your caring heart,
Martin (Sheffield, England, UK)
